15 Minutes Blog Post

January 13, 2008

Sunday’s almost over and it’s Monday again. I still like to get some long rest from last weeks work hangover. 15 minutes to go and a new day’s coming. My plan for this week’s posts is to blog about my paypal account verification, review on the different internet broadband service providers in the country, different Pinoy forums, and about some  interesting online gigs.

Today I got two more bloggers who linked my blog to theirs. See, I am slowly gaining friends through blogging and it feels good that somehow there are a few who think that Abstractmind is interesting. As I see it, I’m on the right path and the only thing that I need now is to be patient and work harder. The bud is yet to sprout and even if I’m not seeing anything at the moment, I know it’s gonna come out soon.

HAPPY NEW DAY!

Linking and Getting Linked

For the first time, I am taking this blogging thing a bit seriously. Unlike my other previous blogs, this one so far has the most number of posts although you will definitely notice that even if, still, I only have a few posts for this blog. (lol) So you could just imagine the number of posts in my other blogs! jajajaja

One thing about blogging that took me so long to realize is that it’s never easy to get a page rank from Google. It requires that you have plenty back links from other websites and by this I really mean PLENTY! lol And how do I get such back links? The way is actually quite easy, but, doing it is such a tedious task. Getting back links is like bribing other bloggers to place your link into their blogs and their links into yours. And as with my experience, only a few would want to exchange links with bloggers whose pages don’t have a page rank at all, not even PR1.

But I wanted to thank those who were very generous to link my blog into  theirs. Thanks to Blue Apron, Gacdelacruz, Janus, Jeremie, Tick a Way With Me, and Tidbits. Thanks a lot! I guess this isn’t the time to quit again. If they did it and so would I.

Can’t Think Can’t Write

January 11, 2008

I was supposed to write some paid articles yesterday for my client but I ended up empty handed after a long period of doing research and compositions. I didn’t find my works good and I can’t even say they’re hunky-dory knowing they’re intended for web content. Now, these are just my way of saying that the articles I made were on a level of being unsatisfactory.

Although article writing is not new to me, there are just times when I can’t write articles that are passable. I hope I could freely pick topics that I would to write about. But it is not blogging, it is business; people are waiting and you are beating deadlines. Whether to write or not to write is not the big thing here, it is more on how you deal with it whenever times like this come. Conflict may come up between you and your clients although it would just melt down once you have explained your thing well. As for my writing career, I’m already on the edge hanging, although, I still got hands tightly gripping for some quick remedies.

Making Money on eBay - Part 2

January 1, 2008

This is an article which I wrote about a year ago (Dec.'06) for an online client. I wasn't paid like what was agreed so I think I have the right to post it here. The agreement was not followed so this article is still mine. I would appreciate if you could give comments on this issue. Thanks.

What is with eBay that keeps buyers coming? eBay has been online for quite some time already that it has become the top or shall I say the No. 1 online auction site as of today. But going back to the question, what is really pulling buyers back to eBay? Customers seemed to be very attracted with the deals on eBay.

If you are a business minded type of a person, these statements must have rung like bells in your ears. Indeed, joining the bunch of sellers on eBay today isn’t yet too late for new sellers. In fact the market has just started expanding or I think the better term is ‘evolving.’

A great advantage of starting a store on eBay for new sellers maybe counted from the fact the people are now becoming aware of the possibilities of doing online transactions and purchases. We are now in the new era of online marketing. More and more people are starting to discover the conveniences that online buying can bring them. Aside from the truth that online purchasing can save them so much time as compared with whenever they personally go to the department stores and buy stuffs, buying goods online also offers fantastic deals in terms of the goods’ prices, items’ condition, and with the way the goods are brought to the customer’s house.

Knowing these facts, the seller can be assured of a big market for his chosen line of products. These great deals are actually luring a large number of potential buyers every single day. And we are not talking solely about the US territories. Accordingly, 70% of the eBay customers are coming from outside the US. We can then generalize from this analysis that, starting a new store under eBay today can really guarantee every seller of a good profit but of course, given that the sellers are also willing to do some few assignments as they start their eBay business.

According to surveys, most sellers who failed in eBay were those who failed to find the right product for their stores, and those that failed to get the right suppliers. Though these are the two major key points that a seller must consider in starting an eBay store, it is always better to study and do some good researches before starting to sell on the eBay marketplace. One thing for sure, it is never too late to start and there is no need to rush as the market is just starting to grow.

Causes of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

This is an article which I wrote about a year ago (Dec.'06) for an online client. I wasn't paid like what was agreed so I think I have the right to post it here. The agreement was not followed so this article is still mine. I would appreciate if you could give comments on this issue. Thanks.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is rapidly catching the attention of the more and more medical research institutions in and outside of the US today. The Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is an anxiety disease that is characterized by intrusive thoughts that lead the patient to perform repetitive rituals that hinder him from performing the normal regular routines which most people do.

Accordingly, most adult sufferers recognize that they are actually performing a senseless thing due to its repetitive nature, but they do not have control and that they just can’t stop it. On the other hand some sufferers, particularly children, may not recognize the abnormality of their behavior. One in every 50 people is said to be a sufferer of the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Symptoms for most recorded cases generally show up during the adolescent years or early adulthood of the OCD sufferer.

Preventing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder remains largely unexplored, partly because most if not all medical researchers regarding this anxiety disease, are not certain about the causes of the problem. However, some medical researches show that it may have something to do with chemicals and components in the brain that carry messages from one nerve cell to another. A certain chemical present in the human brain, called serotonin, helps to keep people from repeating the same behaviors over and over again. A person with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder may not have enough serotonin. Findings show that many OCD sufferers can function better when they take medicines that increase the amount of serotonin in their brain.

The too many assumptions about the exact cause of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder have bisected the community of medical scientists studying it. One group believes that the obsessive-compulsive behavior is a psychological disorder. They are claiming that OCD is caused when people seriously takes personal responsibility of the obsessive thoughts which they experience. This blown up sense of responsibility makes people more anxious, keeping the distressing thought in their mind and they then try to avoid this feeling of responsibility by performing compulsions. Interestingly, claims by the other group of scientists are very far from the claims of the first group which is related to psychological disorder. This group of researchers strongly believes that obsessive-compulsive behavior is caused by abnormalities in the brain, that it is rather biological in nature rather than psychological.

Due to the different claims and assumptions of medical researchers, treatment centers often recommend of both medical and behavioral means for the treatment OCD sufferers. A combination of the two treatments is often helpful for most patients. Some individuals are more responsive to one therapy, some to another. So far, two medications have already been found effective in treating OCD are clomipramine and fluoxetine although, there are also a number of others that are showing promise and may soon be available. Behavioral therapy, particularly a type called ‘Exposure and Response Prevention,’ has also been proven useful for treating OCD.

Make Money on eBay

This is an article which I wrote about a year ago (Dec. '06) for an online client. I wasn't paid like what was agreed so I think I have the right to post it here although I've found it in some other's site already. The agreement was not followed so this article is still mine. I would appreciate if you could give comments on this issue. Thanks.

When it’s auction, it’s eBay. Nothing on the web can probably kick eBay out as the no. 1 auction site in the world. eBay, which was founded in 1995 by computer programmer Pierre Omidyar has already expanded to almost all countries and is still growing today. Millions of different items, from collectibles to appliances, computers, furniture, equipment, vehicles, and many others are bought, and sold daily. Undeniably people are spending millions of dollars in eBay everyday.

‘How do I make money on eBay?’ this is the most common question raised by people who also want to take advantage of the opportunities on the eBay market. For beginners, the best thing they can to do to begin is probably to find their niche in eBay. Personal areas of interest should always be taken note of in finding a niche. It is rather more important that the seller has an interest in the line of goods that he or she is selling than preferring goods just because they can gain more profit. One does best in things that interest him most.

Once a niche has been identified, researching about the demand of a particular product line will be the next wise thing to do. There must be more demand than the product available. This will guarantee the seller of a great profit. Finding a product source is as significant as finding the right product itself. A good product source will be someone who is reliable and who has already created a stable portfolio and best of all, someone who will leave the seller with a large profit margin.

There are still a few more steps the needs to accomplish to start selling on eBay. These would include making an eBay account with a verified credit card, posting the items to be sold which basically requires the seller to prepare a catchy photo of the items and there descriptions and as well as identifying the best price for the items. These maybe a bit tedious on the seller’s side however very rewarding once things are set up already. And the seller just has to make some simple updating later on.

eBay pros and cons are readily available online from free ezines and newsletters.Discouraging but true, there are so many scammers and money rippers out on the net who are trying to entice EBay novices to buy their so called ‘eBay Success Guide’ e-books that are no better than a piece of trash. It must be noted that forums and other online discussions and articles are there for assistance and it is therefore needless to buy e-books which is 99% sold by scammers.
