Google’s Project 10^100

October 26, 2008

For its 10th birthday, Google Inc. is offering $10 million worth of funding to up to 5 world changing ideas that will have broad and beneficial effects on the world. Submission of ideas for the project called Project 10^100 (10 to the 100th) started last September 24 and ended October 20 which has generated more than 150,000 submissions from all over the world.

Although the submission of ideas has officially ended, you can still contribute by voting for the idea that you think is the best out of 100 top ideas beginning on January 27 of next year. To choose the top 5 ideas, public voting will be held for one whole week.

For a budget that big, I think and I do believe that whatever the idea that will be chosen will indeed be that, world changing. Who knows, the success of this project might just be the stimuli for other giant companies to follow suit. So don’t forget to cast your votes next year people!
