Developing an application based on the Symbian OS platform has become a big hit among mobile phone application programmers especially among games developers. Obviously, Symbian games are far better than Java based games, not only in terms of the graphic interfaces but also with the effects and controls flexibility. Symbian OS which was first launched in 2001 Nokia phone 9210 model, has indeed gone far as more and more software companies are eyeing for the growing Symbian market although the software are not directly acquired by the phone manufacturing companies, the market is still big enough to sustain the companies developing the software.
As previously mentioned in my last blog entry, Nokia has already announced the release of their own version of the Iphone which will become the first ever touch screen phone to carry the Symbian OS S60. Definitely a thing to watch especially for those who smart phone enthusiasts.
Nokia has just announced that it will be launching its own version of the popular Iphone. Nokia did it during the Nokia’s GoPlay event as part of ther response to the touch screen phones battle among phone manufacturers. LG, Motorola and Samsung already released their own touch screen phones in the market.
The said Nokia phone will be due for release by next year. Once it is out, Nokia will be the first one to market a touch screen phone that is based on the symbian OS S60 platform. It should become a great edge for the company to compete with the leading Mac’s Iphone brand. Nokia currently holds more than 50% of the entire mobile phone market globally. Aside from its Symbian OS, the upcoming Nokia phone will also include a strong wifi connectivity among its features. It will surely revolutionize the way people use their hand phones in the future. Now, how about we watch out to that.
